What is Dundee Science Festival?
Every October, Dundee Science Centre co-ordinates a two week programme of events that all take place in Dundee across a variety of venues, including Dundee Science Centre and other community hubs. Dundee Science Festival aims to make science fun and accessible to inspire children, adults and families.
When is the next festival?
This year’s public festival will take place from Saturday 5 October until Sunday 20 October 2019 with different events, exhibitions, activity days and bookable workshops taking place throughout. There is also a schools programme that will run in November; more information can be found here.
How can I get a copy of the festival brochure?
You can download a copy of the brochure from our homepage nearer the time of the festival. Alternatively, you can pick up a festival brochure from Dundee Science Centre a few weeks prior to the start of the festival.
How can I book tickets?
Visit our What’s On page nearer the time of the events where more information can be found in the dedicated event listing. All of our bookable events can be booked online through the What’s On section of the website. Do you have any free events?
All events that take place in community centres are free-of-charge. We ensure that most of our events are free so that anyone can enjoy our festival experience since we are an educational charity devoted to making science accessible and relevant to people of different ages and backgrounds.
Where does the festival take place?
The festival takes place in Dundee Science Centre and in different community hubs across the city such as Ardler Complex, Menzieshill Community Centre, Douglas Community Centre and many others. Please browse our What’s On page to find activities near you.
How accessible are the venues?
Dundee Science Centre had accessible entrances and automated doors; accessible toilet facilities; access to all floors via lift; parking spaces by the entrance and welcome s guide dogs. For other venues, please visit the specific venue website for further details.
How can I get to the venue?
Dundee Science Centre is a 5 minute walk away from the railway station and just minutes away from any city centre bus stop. Other festival venues are accessible by bus. Plan your journey using Traveline Scotland.
