Dundee Science Centre facilities and displays have been designed with ease of disability access in mind.

It is important to us that all visitors feel welcome. Our friendly team are always on hand to provide assistance and to offer support for the varying needs of all visitors. If you, or a member of your group has a disability, here is some information to help you plan and prepare for your visit.

Your visit to Dundee Science Centre

Dundee Science Centre reception area

There are designated disabled parking spaces in the car parks to the front and rear of the building, which has a level entrance. As these car parks are owned by Dundee City Council, we are unable to reserve spaces.

Carers of assisted visitors are admitted free of charge. One carer admitted per assisted visitor, including visitors aged 4 or under. Assisted visitors are admitted at a reduced price with prices being found on the admission prices page. Please bring along carer's badge, or a form of ID to help us process your admission on arrival.

If there is a queue for admission when arriving at the Science Centre, please let a member of staff know if you have any disabilities, and we will offer extra assistance for your entry, while providing you with added information regarding your visit.

Our exhibitions are set over two floors, with lift access to the 1st floor. The ground floor is flat, open plan and accessible for wheelchair users.

Our disabled toilets are situated at the rear of the centre, beside the coffee shop.

Wheelchairs are available for loan at no charge.

Assistance dogs are welcome throughout the centre.

If you have any special access requirements or further questions about the centre, please get in touch before you visit by calling 01382 228800 during opening hours, or by emailing us at

Sensory Packs

We have developed sensory packs for visitors to the centre - as pictured above - which our visitors can borrow during their visit to Dundee Science Centre.

If you’d like to borrow our packs during your visit, please just let reception know upon your arrival and they can provide you with one of our backpacks. Packs are currently limited and subject to availability.

Ear defenders are also available for use, which can be collected from reception upon arrival. If you would like to provide us with some feedback, please feel free to contact

Some items in the Sensory Packs will also be available to purchase in our Gift Shop.

Open plan coffee shop area with counter and till on the right and seating to the right.

If you’re just looking for a space to relax and a bite to eat, we have an open-plan Coffee Shop, Infusion, at the centre which does not require an admission ticket to visit. If you have any special dietary requirements, please contact us in advance so that we can cater to your needs.

To ensure that our coffee shop area is an open and inclusive space we are happy for our visitors with dietary needs to bring their own food/drink, whilst also having a free bottle and food warming site.
